Wine is part of Catalan tradition and history, and has been grown in all regions since the time of the Romans The Denomination of Origin Catalunya brings a good part of Tarragona's vineyards together, where powerful red wines are produced, with intense aroma and very balanced, elaborated with `garnacha negra´, `tempranillo´ and `cabernet sauvignon´ grapes. The white wines are, in general, light and very fruity, elaborated with autochthonous varieties like the `macabeo´ or `parellada´ grapes. The rosés and traditional liqueurs, `mistelas´, `rancios´, and sweet complete the offer of the DO Catalunya.
