The harvesting of honey – of sweet-tasting and viscous texture - is an occupation deeply rooted in the Tierras del Ebro region, especially in Perelló (Baix Ebre) and Arnes (Terra Alta). The most important varieties are impregnated with the aromas of orange and rosemary, two of the most abundant plant species in the fields and forests of these regions. Honey is a quality product that can season cakes or a good slice of bread. The last week of May takes place the Honey Festival in Arnes, where there are some seventy stands of artisans with tasting and sale of products related to honey, circus performances, workshops and music.
