The Cardó mountains make up one of the most charismatic mountain ranges of the Tierras del Ebro region. Most of the range extends between the municipalities of Benifallet (Baix Ebre) and Rasquera (Ribera de Ebro). Its interior slope descends to the Ebro river, to the south and to the southeast continues in the Sierra del Boix mountains. The steep Cardó valley, open towards the northwest, is drained by the ravine of Cardó, affluent on the left of the Ebro river. Among the vegetation of the shady spot are oaks, pine forests and some oaks. On the sunny spots, shrub vegetation as the mastic, rosemary or heather can be found.
