From November to February, the Tierras del Ebro Olive Oil Cooperatives welcome the first olive oil of the season with a series of festive celebrations including popular meals as well as exhibitions and debates, open days and the presentation, tasting and sale of the new oil. A good example of all these activities are the oil fairs held in various towns in these regions - La Fatarella, Godall, Santa Bàrbara, Jesús or Bot -, and which have become a meeting and party a point round this golden liquid so representative of the Mediterranean gastronomy. Specifically, the Tierras del Ebro Oil Fair, which is celebrated every last weekend of February in Jesús, becomes a platform to promote ethnological heritage and to recover and maintain traditions linked to the world of peasants.
