It is perhaps one of the symbols that can best explain the different civilizations that have gone through Tortosa throughout history. The medieval walls of Tortosa are a set of fortifications of the city of Tortosa declared Cultural Asset of National Interest. It is a closing wall of the medieval city of Tortosa, which also includes a first line of wall delimited in Andalusian time, which was used in the twelfth century, after the conquest. This one follows the old enclosure of Roman times. In the 14th century a new wall was defined that extended the enclosure, taking advantage of part of the previous wall, and comprising the medieval widening of the city.
