The airfield of La Sénia is located at the exit of the village of Plans, at about 2,5 km to the east of the town. You can reach it from the road of La Sénia-Ulldecona. During the Spanish Civil War (1936-1939) the government of the Second Republic, planned the construction of a series of military aerodromes in Catalonia to defend itself against the rebel military coup. One of the most important was the aviation field of La Sénia, built in 1937.

It is a historical and patrimonial space partially preserved and linked to the recent memory of the population with numerous oral, documentary and graphic references.
