The elaboration of wine and spirits was a very present activity in the local economy of Prat de Comte until, first, the plague of the phylloxera and, later, the Spanish Civil War forced to abandon the vineyards. The inhabitants have wanted to recover this tradition since 2001 and it is for this reason that they organize the Spirits Festival. In this way, the second weekend of October the town houses open the doors to show the stills and offer a tasting of homemade brandy and traditional pastries. Visitors can buy this liquor and enjoy activities parallel to the fair such as `cercavilas´, music concerts, a sample of entities and associations and a meeting of `jotas´ dances.
