Platja del Trabucador

Catalonia

A paradise. An icon. An oasis of tranquillity for the visitor. One of the essential places to visit on the Ebro Delta. Beauty transformed into a natural beach... You never run out of words to praise El Trabucador and L’Aluet Beaches, and they all do it justice. El Trabucador is 7 km long and forms a natural isthmus that connects the Ebro Delta with La Banya Point. It has two distinct beaches, one facing the open Mediterranean and the other with its shores on Els Alfacs Bay, the largest natural harbour in Europe and place of pilgrimage for hundreds of species of waterfowl. Currently only a two-kilometre stretch of the isthmus is accessible by car and another 6.5 km on foot or by bicycle.

The part of El Trabucador Beach facing Els Alfacs Bay has shallow waters, making it perfect for beginners to practice water sports such as windsurfing, kitesurfing, paddle surfing, etc. The Trabucador Pier is a long wooden walkway that juts out into Els Alfacs Bay and is the ideal place from which to immortalise the magnificent views with your camera, especially as the sun drops below the horizon. The sunsets with the mountains, the town of La Ràpita or the Salines de la Trinitat salt pans in the background are spectacular at the so-called “golden hour”.

Access to El Trabucador is open all year round. However, with the aim of conserving and protecting it, in July and August there are restrictions due to the large numbers of people wanting to visit the beach. Therefore if you’re planning to visit it in those months, we recommend you reserve your parking space at https://turismelarapita.cat/trabucador.
