The municipality of L'Aldea preserves four medieval watchtowers, catalogued as Cultural Asset of National Interest by the Catalonian Government. The monuments can be bordered if we follow, on foot or by bicycle, the route proposed by the City council of this municipality of the Ebro Delta. The so-called “Torre de la Ermita” (Hermitage Tower), of rectangular shape, is surely one of the most important patrimonial points of the village and, in fact, has become the symbol of the town. We can also find the Candela Tower which is located South of the municipality, very close to the river and in front of the town centre of Amposta. We cannot forget the imposing circular Burjassénia Tower and the ruins of Benixarop Tower (the two of the 12th century), located in the north of the municipality, in a non-irrigated area, where you can enjoy a wonderful panoramic view of the Ebro Delta.
