Centro Histórico de la Fatarella
And what about La Fatarella? Its historic centre with narrow, winding, steep and irregular streets retains some very unique old houses. Porches, stone shutters, inscriptions and shields, among which the “Casa Balsebre” stands out, a 17th century manor house with an interesting gallery followed by small half-point windows. The parish church of Sant Andreu, which began to be built in the 17th century, is a late Gothic spacious temple with a Renaissance interior and a baroque façade dating back to the 18th century. The chapel of the Mare de Déu de la Misericòrdia, Renaissance style, was built at the highest point of the town, from where you can contemplate the whole region. That is why it is called the “Mirador de la Terra Alta” (Viewpoint of the Terra Alta). Did you know?
