The “Celler Cooperatiu de Gandesa” (Gandesa Cooperative Wine Cellar) is one of the most emblematic Modernist buildings of the Terra Alta region. It was built in 1919 by César Martinell, who was also the architect who designed the Cooperative Wine Cellar in the nearby village of Pinell de Brai. The main body of the building consists of three rectangular and parallel naves. The cover uses the most defining elements of the architecture of the modernist cellars: the brick and the Catalan vault.
