Diada de l'Arrossejat
The `Diada de l'Arrossejat´ is a traditional event in l'Ametlla de Mar, celebrated the second week of October. It is one of the most popular gastronomic festivals in the Tierras del Ebre region. Its main purpose is the promotion of the local gastronomy, characterized by its elaboration with the fresh fish and seafood that is captured by the fishing fleet of l'Ametlla de Mar. The experts in cooking say that the fish and seafood of l'Ametlla de Mar has some nuances and unique flavours, due to the proximity of the Ebro Delta, and the richness of nutrients that are obtained in the fresh water of the river blended with the salt water of the Mediterranean. The Diada de l'Arrossejat also aims to involve the local population in promoting tourism and in turn maintain traditions and promote gastronomic products. This already popular celebration is included in the `Jornadas Gastronómicas del Pescado de Lonja´ of l'Ametlla de Mar celebrated every year around the month of October.
