Grup de Natura Freixe
The Sebes Natural Reserve is a river area located on the banks of the Ebro where the river crosses Flix. The origin of this area of wetlands was already referred to in texts of the 15th century, and was mostly occupied by cultivated areas. The preservation of wetlands is one of the identity elements of the area. The management of the protected area has been carried out since 1999 by a local NGO, the `Grup de Natura Freixe, in agreement with the Flix Town Council and with the support of the Generalitat de Catalunya, the Catalonian government. The expert guides of the Grup de Natura Freixe (the technicians of the nature reserve) carry out various activities such as guided visits to the natural space accompanied by interpretation of the natural environment, bird watching, etc.
