Platja de Les Cases-Marja
Platja de Les Cases-Marjal and del Camaril in Alcanar (Terres de l'Ebre) is one of the most emblematic and well-known beaches in the municipality and very popular with families. El Marjal, as it is also known, is some 300 m long by 35 m wide with a mixture of fine sand and small pebbles with calm waters and no steep shelves. It offers a wide variety of services and is the gateway to the traditional fishing quarter of Les Cases d'Alcanar.
Marjal Beach is easy to get to on foot or by car and its facilities include showers and toilets, as well as a beach bar serving soft drinks and ice creams. Did you know that El Marjal was one of the first beaches to offer a beach library service?
Another characteristic feature of Platja del Marjal is the landscape that surrounds it. To the north you can see the foothills of the Montsià mountain range. Inland, the beach is bordered by Les Cases d’Alcanar, the town’s fishing district, where you can savour the excellent authentic local and Ebro cuisine. Marjal Beach is also included in a walking route of the same name that invites you to discover, in three sections, the landscape bordering the mouth of the River Sénia. The scenery is spectacular!
