Playa Baconé
El Baconé beach in L'Ampolla (southern Terres de l'Ebre) is some 200 m long and 70 m wide. It has a characteristic surface made up of rounded black and white stones that have been shaped by the ebb and flow of the waters and the passing of the years. On sunny days these stones are said to acquire a pale tone that fills every corner with Mediterranean light. The beach is located below a series of cliffs, which also explains the particularity of its surface.
Platja del Baconé, which you can sometimes see written as Platja del Baconer or Baconet, offers calm waters and an average occupation. It is ideal for those looking for peace and quiet by the sea. It is also an access point for hikers, as it is on the route of the GR-92 Mediterranean long-distance footpath.
The proximity of El Baconé Beach to L'Ampolla town centre and the tranquillity of its waters make it very popular for families with children. It is also common to see fishermen casting their lines in the hope of hooking sea bass, tuna or bluefish. Water sports enthusiasts can also take advantage of the facilities at the nearby L’Ampolla Yacht Club that offers activities such as sailing, windsurfing and water skiing. The marina has 433 moorings
