Platja de la Bassa de l’Arena

Passeig Marítim
43580 RiumarTarragona, Catalunya

Platja de la Bassa de l’Arena or del Nen Perdut is the only beach in the Ebro Delta where dogs are allowed all year round. More than 3 kilometres long and with an average width of 40 metres, the beach is divided into two well-differentiated parts. For the first 500 metres, in the southern part that borders on Riumar Beach, dogs (and other pets) are allowed. The final part, bordering Marquesa Beach, is a nudist or naturist beach. Fishing and surfcasting are allowed along the entire beach.

Flanked by the La Marquesa and Riumar beaches, La Bassa de l'Arena has fine golden sand in the form of a small dune system that the wind takes care of shaping and moving around. Very close to the beach is the Canal Vell pond, where you can climb onto a platform to observe the many waterfowl that frequent the Delta’s reed beds.

Although pets can be taken on the first part of the beach throughout the year and without time restrictions, some basic rules must be respected. For example, they must be kept under control at all times to prevent them disturbing other beach users and excrement must be picked up. Dogs must also be registered and, if of a potentially dangerous breed, they must be leashed and muzzled.

La Bassa de l'Arena is one of the longest beaches on the Ebro Delta. It can be reached by bike or car via the TV-3451 road and the A-7 motorway (Exit 39 L'Ampolla-Deltebre). By train from L'Aldea, L'Ampolla or Camarles-Deltebre stations. By interurban bus run by Hife.
