Platja Fonda

39 Carrer Barcelona
43569 AlcanarTarragona, Catalunya

Platja Fonda in the municipality of Alcanar (southern Terres de l'Ebre) is a small natural beach. It is in a cove with few services, as well as being quite isolated and hard to get to, which means it doesn’t get very crowded. If you make the effort, you’ll discover a little gem, a unique spot with extraordinary views.

La Fonda Beach is some 140 m long and 6 m wide and is made up of a mixture of gravel and small pebbles. Its waters tend to have a moderate swell, due to some spells of wind, although access to the water does not present any difficulties.

It can be reached by car or by boat from the sea. It has a space for car parking and a picnic area. Platja Fonda is popular mainly with locals and holidaymakers from the nearby campsites. Les Cases d'Alcanar marina is only about three kilometres away and offers 129 moorings and a wide range of water sports.
