Platja de l’Alguer in L’Ametlla de Mar (Terres de l'Ebre) is an urban beach opposite the town centre, to the east of the fishing harbour and marina and flanked by a palm tree promenade. Sheltered between two small breakwaters that makes its waters even calmer, Alguer Beach offers all kinds of services. It is very popular with families and can be quite crowded in high season. The harbour breakwater that begins on this beach is one of the favourite places for fishermen to cast their lines.

Alguer Beach is some 120 m long by 25 m wide and is directly accessed via steps. There are also ramps for people with reduced mobility. The sand is fine and golden and its gentle slope into the waters is much appreciated by parents with small children.

As an urban beach immediately facing L'Ametlla de Mar town centre, it has a wide range of restaurants and bars offering the best of the excellent local cuisine. It also has showers, toilets, a lifeguard post and nearby parking.

Another remarkable aspect of L’Alguer Beach is the attractive coastal footpath that connects all the coves to the east of the town, including Pixavaques, Ambrosio and Estany Tort, among others.

Alguer Beach can be reached from the A-7 motorway (Exit 39, L’Ametlla de Mar) and via the N-340 main road. By train, take the Tarragona-Tortosa line to L’Ametlla de Mar station. There is also a interurban bus service.
