Despite the rugged nature of much of the L´Ametlla de Mar coast, there are fine coves of fine sand to the north, such as the Calafat beach, the Calafató and the Ribellet cove. Cala Calafató is accessible by car and walking, it is sandy and daily cleaned. It is also guarded by the Red Cross and there is a shower and toilet. It has a blue flag.
