According to tradition, the apostle Santiago himself traveled this path and during his journey the Virgin Mary appeared to him on a pillar, in the place where today stands the Basilica of the Pillar of Zaragoza.
Historically, it has served pilgrims settled in the lands irrigated by the river Ebro, as well as pilgrims from other Mediterranean countries. The route starts at the mouth, follows the river upstream and enters the Terra Alta.
We also make available the route in gpx format if you want to use it with your GPS device.
