Salt, traditional fishing and bird watching are the three main themes which propel and motivate MónNatura Delta, comprising a group of areas which add value to this territory and the biodiversity surrounding it.
The fourth edition of the Delta Birding Festival is scheduled to take place on 22nd, 23rd and 24th September and will take place in MónNatura Delta de l’Ebre. As usual, it comes filled up with big names and big news. After bringing renowned ornithologists like Lars Svensson, Hadoram Shirihai, Killian Mullarney or Markus Varesvuuo, to name just a few, it seemed hard to find more guests speakers that could match that level of expertise and popularity. DBF 2017 will present to the birder community some more top level speakers.
The booted eagle (Aquila pennata) is one of the 12 daytime birds of prey species which nest regularly in Els Ports. This forest bird of prey needs to nest in peaceful well-preserved forest areas. In higher forest areas of Els Ports Nature Park there are a total of 15 pairs living and nesting in European black pine and Scots pine forest areas which are really well preserved.
This natural beauty spot, Foia reservoirs, is an area of interest in terms of nature which is situated on the boundary of two villages, Masdenverge and Godall, where La Galera gully meets Solsó ravine. Masdenverge Town Hall and Terres de l’Ebre Museum have taken action over the years, in this area covering 21,000m2, with the aim of promoting recovery of native vegetation and starting a wildlife refuge there.
