Find out about us
The idea of discovery which is also the idea of adventure is more than just a simple journey. It is linked to stimulating curiosity, to experiencing new emotions and becoming more aware of a region. This is just what is on offer in Terres de l'Ebre: a history which is closely linked to the Ebro River, religious festivals of mediaeval origin, traditional music and dance and gastronomy inherited from Muslim and Christian ancestors using the best ingredients from the sea and the river. Delta rice, olive oil from Baix Ebre, Montsià and Terra Alta, fruit from the banks of the Ebre River and wine from Terra Alta are just some of the products – recognized with different levels of quality like the Qualified Designation of Origin or the Protected Geographic Identification.

When discovering this region, you must remember to visit the Delta, Macizo and Els Ports Protected Areas. One of the most surprising natural phenomenons in these regions of south Catalonia occurs when the river reaches the sea, in the Delta del Ebre Nature Park, where fresh and salt water mix. Nearby, there are some extremely long peaceful beaches and lots of lakes of great interest for nature lovers, where you can see birds like flamingoes, terns, herons and gulls to name but a few. Up river, between welcoming mediaeval villages and historic cities, contemplating the river and its scenery means going back in time: castles greet you with templar importance, Arabian towers keep vigil over the river and fields where crops and fruit trees splash colour along the Ebre river banks emanating the same fragrances as a thousand years ago. In the background are the majestic, highest peaks of the Els Ports Nature Park, which, among the craggy cliffs and lush forests, is home to the wild goat, Bonelli's eagle and the common vulture.

Visit these areas by bicycle, on foot or on horseback, go fishing in the calm waters of Flix and Riba-Roja reservoirs, go kayaking from Móra d'Ebre to Miravet or Benifallet, go birdwatching in the Ebre Delta, wander through the winding streets of the old quarter in Tortosa or the renaissance villages like Arnes and Horta de San Joan. Feel the gentle sea breeze bringing the smell of the sea inland... There are countless ways for you to discover the charm of Terres de l'Ebre, regions where details fascinate you and give you the chance to have new experiences. Would you miss it?
